Why We Drilling Kerina Village
Kerina village was the midpoint proximity,on higher elevation for gravitational water discharge when supplying to people’s homes.
Kerina is geologically-viable area to harvest enough ground water for the community because of its topographical elevation and a terrain.
- According to the Hydrogeologists, He advised that Kerina village was the one that conformed to the water drilling laws that requires that well should be drilled not within proximity to another existing well within the area be it private or public since it potentially affects and depletes the ground aquifers which is against the natural resource utilization.
- Availability – Near the targeted population who are in dire need of clean water for drinking.
- Space – Availability of flexible public space for drilling where everyone can access the water without any hindrance, discrimination or presumed prejudice is any.
- Security – The place has an administrative camp with administrative police within reach. This helps to secure the drilling machines and pipes, water pump and tanks when installed and avoid any form of sabotage that can affect the community.
The water now provided in Kerina will supply 700 homes directly which has family capacity on average of 5 family members. Also, surrounding over 4000 will benefit in addition to two schools with a capacity of 1500 students and a small market place.
HOW WILL PEOPLE GET THE DRILLED WATER NOW?
A customized – electric submersible water pump will be inserted into the bottom of the well/borehole. With the pipes connecting to the overhead 10 meter above ground 150,000 or 200,000liters steel tank, water will be pumped in and then by force of gravity water will be released to people’s homes and collection centers via the the 7kms ground piping network within the community.
